WKJV
Radio is a ministry of International Baptist Outreach Missions,
Inc., a not-for-profit mission board
with an emphasis on starting and strengthening churches in the U.S. and
world-wide assisting national pastors. Known as the "King's Radio", WKJV is a
listener-supported station, broadcasting classic southern gospel music and some
of America's finest preaching, 24 hours daily. Its format is a blend of Southern
Gospel, church choirs, camp meeting selections, hymns, bluegrass, and Gospel
oldies, with both local and national artists, and preaching from some of the
greatest men of God (i.e. Maze Jackson, Dr. J. Harold Smith, Ralph Sexton, and
Harold Sightler) and local preachers.
"Pure
Gospel" is not just words on the WKJV format but is the theme of all songs and
programming. Western North Carolina has been a leader and preserver of the old
time worship and this radio station is proud to carry on that tradition. WKJV is
holding the line for truth and power in its efforts to propagate the Word of God
in the A.V. 1611 King James Bible. There is a swift movement away from the Bible
and sound doctrine in this new millennium. It is very important for the church
to have strong holds and watch towers as Israel did in the times of the Old
Testament. As one rides through the olive gardens and grape vineyards there are
the remains of rock watch towers still visible in modern day Israel. WKJV is a
watch tower in the midst of this generation whose ways are not God's ways and
whose thoughts are not God's thoughts. The messages, songs, news and information
sent out from The King's Radio is to edify, encourage, inform and to warn our
listeners of impending danger as the world attempts to overwhelm the Christian
with their humanistic reasoning.
It is totally
impossible for a Christian radio station to operate comfortably without the
sounds of good Gospel music. At WKJV each CD, cassette tape, or record is
thoroughly listened to, sometimes as many as three times to ensure its
acceptance into our library of music. This is to be sure it is 1) Biblical, 2)
uplifts God, and 3) simply "Pure Gospel." In other words, we want 100% of our
music to be uplifting to our listening audience. In Western North Carolina there
are many kinds of Gospel music people enjoy, and in return, WKJV successfully
provides the largest variety of Gospel that could ever be known. WKJV is the
Asheville representative for Gospel music with a vast music library that
contains well over 7000 songs.
WKJV
operates 25,000 watts, with a potential
listening audience of 750,000, serving Buncombe, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell,
Haywood, Henderson, Yancey, and Transylvania Counties.
WKJV is the
only Christian Radio station broadcasting live from studios in Asheville, NC,
therefore we are a local grassroots broadcaster appealing to hometown folks, yet
having a very professional sound.
WKJV's
format of Gospel Classic music and Christian programming is
second to none
and received with overwhelming response to the
listeners of our coverage area.
WKJV
is listener supported with more than 100
churches involved in the financial support of the station. Our supporters are
very loyal in supporting the businesses who sponsor programming.
